Description:

Baroque Michna palace is a jewel of the whole Lesser Quarter with its fountain and atrium. First mention of palace is from 1579 and at that time, Jan Vchynský from Vchynice was the owner. Another important owner was Pavel Michna from Vacínov, because he bought the palace in 1623 and rebuilt it into today’s appearance and we thank him for rich interior plaster ornamentation. It remained in Michnas‘ possession for almost 50 years; the name comes from that time. In 1767, the building was given to Civil service, which set up military armory here. City Prague got the palace back in 1941 and sold it to Czechoslovak Sokols. Today, Michna palace offers representative premises suitable for holding social events
